While there is plenty to do in Soul Calibur 6, combat is of course the main event and we have to say it feels great in the hand. In doing so Soul Calibur 6 has something of an all-star reunion tour quality to it, topped with a heady hit of nostalgia for long time fans. Gone are the mostly unlikeable new generation of fighters from 5, and back in are old favourites like Taki, Kilik and Sophitia. Taking the story back to the Soul Calibur and Soul Calibur 2 era, this new entry aims to recapture some of the best things about the series as a whole.
For a game that may well be the last in its line, according to Producer Motohiro Okubo, Soul Calibur 6 makes a hell of a case for the series continuing, despite some ugly missteps.
